The Port of Oakland announced a new partnership with QuayChain Technologies (pronounced keychain), which provides a new source of real-time and precise street data that will assist the Port of Oakland provide important data to stakeholders. Apparently, Oakland will take the lead with fast, reliable data. According to Bryan Brandes, Director of Maritime at the Port of Oakland, the Port's mission has been to be among the first organizations to develop a data transparency portal to ensure the public knows where their cargo is. Brandes further claimed that this QuayChain street data will be at the core of the Port of Oakland's new portal, which will provide real-time data on the movement of chassis, trucks, and containers across the Port's streets, providing new insights that no other Port in the United States or the world has.
