One Drop-Sano enter assets and intellectual property acquisition deal
One Drop, a leading digital health company, has recently announced the acquisition of the whole assets & intellectual property of Sano Intelligence Inc., a developer of wearable sensors. Several team members of Sano will join the company under the asset purchase deal. One Drop will leverage these acquired assets, such as silicon-sensing production infrastructure, to design, deliver, and commercialize a continuous health sensing platform based on silicon across multiple conditions. One Drop’s comprehensive multi-sensorial solution will include Sano’s continuous glucose sensing platform. The planned development will enable the company to bring adaptive, personalized, integrated health solutions in real-time to people via mobile phones. Ashwin Pushpala, CEO & founder of Sano Intelligence, has stated that the company and One Drop share the same outlook and willingness to transform the traditional healthcare into preventative, proactive self-care. A comprehensive CAS (collision avoidance system) for health and wellness can be successfully created by combining the user-centered design and data-driven predictive capabilities of One Drop with Sano’s expertise in device and sensor technology. The digital health company has collected longitudinal health data points of 9 billion across 75 biomarkers from up to 2.5 million users to date. The machine learning models behind the adaptive and predictive support capabilities of the company will be strengthened through the addition of several new data points per user/day in its continuous health sensing platform. According to Jeff Dachis, founder and CEO of One Drop, there has been a rising importance behind the adoption of telehealth as well as digital self-management of chronic health conditions. This can be significantly fulfilled in real-time by introducing the health sensing technology to the company’s personalized solutions. The introduction will help cater to the rising prevalence of various health issues by keeping people informed on ways to proactively prevent these issues. In order to enhance the direct-to-consumer channels, One Drop has introduced end-to-end employer & payor offerings, broader retail availability and digital-only offerings.
