It will help partners and customers who are looking for AI deployment as a part of their transformation journey
NVIDIA, the graphics processing unit designer and NetApp, a data management service provider, have reportedly announced a partnership to introduce an AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, India.
Apparently, under a global partnership between the two companies, the CoE will be executed through Data Visionary Centre (DVC) of NetApp. NVIDIA would bring in go-to-market initiative and engineering talent, while NetApp is investing in infrastructure. It will help partners and customers who are looking for AI deployment as a part of their transformation journey.
President of NetApp India and SAARC, Anil Valluri stated that the focus on Indian market has come as a result of massive demand arising out of AI initiatives supported by the government.
Seemingly, AI is a crucial focus area and the government think-tank NITI Aayog had made a proposal for a Rs 7,500 crore plan recently, aimed at AI research and development. The project would be in the fields of agriculture, education, health, and mobility. As per sources, AI could add nearly $957 billion to the country’s GDP by 2035.
Citing reliable sources, enterprises are also looking to use AI to provide better products and services. Rising availability and digital transformation of high-end data storage competences in India would further influencing the demand for AI in the country, sources added.
Valluri commented that India is lagging with regards to AI adoption. Initiatives which are push ingAI adoption provide tremendous potential for companies like NetApp and this is what the NVIDIA partnership aims to accomplish, he said.
The company has reportedly invested in producing AI infrastructure, including data storage and NVIDIA DGX supercomputers.
For the uninitiated, NetApp, Inc. is a data management and hybrid cloud data services company, headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. It provides hybrid cloud data services for management of application and data across cloud and on-premises environments.
