Air Co. plans hand sanitizer bottle donation to local restaurants
Air Co., a technology and lifestyle company, has reportedly redirected 100% production capacity of its CO2-based vodka to the development of hand sanitizer. The recent shift in the development of a new product line has been carried out, in partnership with NYC officials, to combat the spread of coronavirus. The company will donate every bottle of hand sanitizer, made up of 70% ethanol (its primary output), to local restaurants who are engaged with delivery personnel, while indirectly supporting the continuous healthcare measures taken up in the city such as isolation and social distancing. The donation program rightly validates that the new product development is not a cash-in strategy to benefit from the ongoing panic-buying trends of sanitizers. The company has significantly shifted its effort from upscaling the business for revenue generation to sustaining the charitable service. It is not sure on how long the donation process will last; however, the company is reportedly planning to continue as long as it can. According to Gregory Constantine, co-founder and CEO at Air Co., the company’s motto is to fulfill any initiatives towards social good. Therefore, it aims to assist the community in the fight against the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic. Mr. Constantine has reportedly stated that while the company has been producing smaller volumes of hand sanitizers in initial stages, it is now focusing on ramping the production, with 1000 50mL sanitizers having been produced. It also targets production of 1000 sanitizer bottles per week, by employing advanced technology to directly supply all donations at the advice of the city. He further added that the donated sanitizer to delivery personnel at local restaurants will prove beneficial as delivery services are currently at the forefront of food services in NYC. He also stated that ramping sanitizer production will significantly cater to the ongoing COVID-19 concerns, with a limited team of workers to help reduce risk of spreading the virus.
