ZipLine acquires Florida-based gift card payment platform SmartClixx
  • The acquisition would facilitate ZipLine an entry into the gift card segment.
  • The newly acquired assets further complement ZipLine’s existing customer payments as well as loyalty capabilities.

ZipLine, a renowned rewards and mobile payment technology platform, has reportedly announced that it has acquired Florida-based gift card payment platform, SmartClixx.

Reports cite, the SmartClixx acquisition facilitates ZipLine an official entry into the gift card segment. The newly acquired assets further complement ZipLine’s existing customer payments as well as loyalty capabilities.

SmartClixx, founded 2001, offers software services that issue gift cards as well as customer service returns and refunds. The service is used by renowned retailers Lord & Taylor, Chico’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Books-A-Million and Belk among others.

The CEO of ZipLine, Stephen Goodrich stated that the company is thrilled to continue on its current path of rapid expansion and growth into new market avenues. The acquisition of SmartClixx as well as its experienced team allows the company to take another step in that direction, he says, adding that SmartClixx, for the last two decades, has deployed and licensed its robust technology; processing transactions going into billions of dollars on behalf of a number of the world’s most recognized brands.

The company now reportedly plans to combine its platform with that of SmartClixx on behalf of its merchant partners, including novel verticals to facilitate enhanced and secure rewards and alternate payment solutions.

According to reports, the proposed acquisition is expected to go into effect immediately. However, the financial information related to the deal has not been unveiled to the public as yet.
