CM.com acquires Dutch-based digital conversation platform CX Company

CM.com, leading conversational commerce platform, has recently acquired CX Company which is a digital conversation platform specifically designed to engage customers via intelligent chatbots, conversational artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual assistance in a personalized manner.

The transaction covers the consideration of about € 15.5 million which excludes the capped earn-out. After the transaction closes, the acquisition shall be accretive to EBITDA. CX Company based in the Netherlands generally employs about 50 FTEs and has also recorded a revenue of about € 6.0 million in 2019. 

The firm is active in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom and serves the blue-chip consumers mainly in telecom, utilities and financial services.

CM.com’s CEO, Jeroen van Glabbeek said that the company is confident that mobile phones shall be the number one device that shall enable communication between both consumers and businesses. The firm has lived up to the expectations by continuously investing in the platform as well as cooperating with Google, Tencent, Apple and Facebook among several others in order to better the mobile messages with videos, pictures and buttons among several other powerful pictures, claims Glabbeek.

Glabbeek also said that the company has been united and determined to support the global enterprise customers to be able to have proper conversations with the customers. The enterprise-grade, chatbot technology of the CX Company as well as its high added value solutions happen to be the best addition to the firm’s offering and a crucial step in the journey to be the leading one-stop-shop of the world for conversational commerce.

The purchase shall accelerate the growth strategy of CM.com as the multinational client base of CX Company includes several industry verticals while also offering various opportunities.
